Crossfire began in Thailand in 2007 after Pastor Joe connected with Pastor Apichat through two Crossfire Philippines leaders who relocated to Thailand. In the spring of 2010, Pastor Joe and Gina traveled to Thailand and Cambodia for the first time to train leaders and implement Crossfire in churches in both countries and lead the first Crossfire Thailand camps. Pastor Joe, Gina, and their oldest daughter Ashley then returned to Thailand the spring of 2013 for two months and from Thailand they traveled to Laos, Burma, Cambodia, South Korea, and the Philippines where they implemented Crossfire in new churches, led Crossfire camps and crusades, visited Crossfire cell groups, and led evangelism on the streets. God moved powerfully through these first two Crossfire International missions across South East Asia and thousands of youth and young adults came to know Jesus as their Savior including many Buddhist youth and young adults who had never heard the Gospel.
Over the first few years, the Crossfire Thailand camps quickly grew, both in attendance as well as in the number of camps that we were able to do each year. By the third year, we began to do multiple, annual Crossfire camps in different parts of Thailand. By the fourth year, there were regional Crossfire camps taking place all across Thailand from Chang Mai and Chang Rai in the north, to Phuket in the south, as well as all across the central parts of Thailand including the areas of Bangkok, Phetchaburi, Karen, Pattaya, Rayong, and Chonburi. Pastor Apichat and the other Crossfire Thailand leaders continued to lead mission trips from Thailand to Laos, Cambodia, and Burma to train new leaders, implement Crossfire in new churches and lead Crossfire camps in those countries as well.
In 2011 Crossfire Thailand launched “Crossfire Music” as a Christian music label in Thailand and across South East Asia. “Crossfire Music” brings together many talented Christian young adult musicians from all across Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Burma and opens up doors for them to record albums and perform, not only at the Crossfire Thailand camps and events, but also at many other Christian events across South East Asia.
The Crossfire cell groups have grown exponentially in churches all across Thailand, Burma, Laos, and Cambodia, and each week Crossfire cell groups take place in homes, schools, and churches all across these countries. Each year Crossfire camps take place in multiple locations across Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, as well as underground in secret locations in the restricted nation of Laos. Thousands of youth and young adults have come to know Jesus as their Savior through the Crossfire cell groups, camps, crusades, evangelism, concerts, and other events that are taking place across South East Asia. You can read much more on the powerful testimonies of what the Lord did during the 2010 and 2013 Crossfire International missions to Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Laos, South Korea, and the Philippines and what the Lord continues to do through Crossfire International in South East Asia in Pastor Joes new book “Effectively Building the Church Globally”.

Pastor Joe and the Crossfire team took an 18 hour train ride from Balakovo, Russia to Aktyubinsk, Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is a predominately Muslim country, and in many areas, churches meet in secret due to intense persecution. While in Kazakhstan we met with underground pastors and leaders, presented Crossfire to them, implemented Crossfire in their churches, and led the first Crossfire Kazakhstan cell groups. You can read much more on the powerful testimonies of what the Lord did during the Crossfire International 2011 mission to Russia and Kazakhstan and how the Lord continues to work through Crossfire Russia and Kazakhstan in Pastor Joes new book “Effectively Building the Church Globally”.
Crossfire cell groups now take place in churches in Balakova and Penza, Russia as well as in Akjubinsk and Almaty, Kazakhstan. We have seen many youth and young adults come to know Jesus over the years through the Crossfire Russia and Kazakhstan cell groups, crusades, and evangelism.
This year while living in Israel Pastor Joe and his family preached in churches, led people to Jesus, trained pastors, and leaders and implemented Crossfire in new churches all across Israel. Young adult leaders from Sweden and Norway participated in one of the Crossfire International leadership training and implementation seminars in Israel, and they are now starting Crossfire cell groups in their home churches in both Norway and Sweden.

Pastor Apichat Kalawantawanawich
Rayong, Thailand

Ohio
Pastor Joe started the first Crossfire in 1998 after he became a youth and young adult pastor and ordained minister at Christian Community Chuch. During times of prayer, God gave Pastor Joe the name “Crossfire” for the youth and young adult ministry that he was starting, as well as the Crossfire cell group and cell lesson structure that is still used today in churches all over the world. Crossfire grew exponentially in Christian Community Church, and the Crossfire cell groups began to multiply into homes, schools, and universities all across central and southeast Ohio. Youth and young adults started pouring into the church through Crossfire, and pastors and leaders from across Ohio and other states began to invite Pastor Joe and teams of Crossfire leaders to implement the Crossfire structure in their churches.
Crossfire continued to expand in the U.S. and each week youth and young adults were coming to know Jesus as their Savior through the Crossfire cell groups, evangelism, camps, concerts, and other events. God then began to open up doors around the world and Pastor Joe and teams of Crossfire leaders began to travel to countries all over the world to train leaders and implement Crossfire in new churches, lead Crossfire crusades, camps, and evangelism on the streets, and start Crossfire cell groups in their churches.
Over the years Crossfire cell groups have met every night of the week in homes, schools, universities, coffee shops, parks, churches, and at workplaces in areas all over Ohio and in several other states. Crossfire leaders have come to the U.S. to visit Crossfire cell groups in homes, schools, and universities from countries all over the world such as Russia, Kenya, Pakistan, Australia, and El Salvador.
Praise God thousands of youth and young adults have come to know Jesus as their Savior through the Crossfire U.S. cell groups, camps, crusades, evangelism, and mission trips to countries all over the world. Today Crossfire cell groups meet in both English and Spanish speaking churches in different parts of the country. You can read much more on the powerful testimonies of the impact of Crossfire in the United States and the full story of how Crossfire International was born in Pastor Joes new book “Effectively Building the Church Globally”.

In August of 2008, Pastor Joe led a team of Crossfire leaders from the United States to India to train leaders and implement Crossfire in new churches, lead Crossfire India evangelistic crusades, and preach in churches. While on their way to India, Pastor Joe and the Crossfire team spent the night in Frankfurt, Germany. While they were visiting Frankfurt they met a team of Venezuelan missionaries who were ministering on the streets. Several of the members of this mission team from Venezuela began to pray for Pastor Joe and the Crossfire team and prophesied several powerful things that God was about to do during this Crossfire International mission to India. Engly was a part of this team, and Pastor Joe remained in contact with Engly after this mission. Then in 2013 Pastor Joe and Engly started Crossfire in churches on Margarita Island in Venezuela.
Crossfire cell groups are now being implemented in new churches on Maragarita Island, Venezuela.
