“ Where are you at with Love? ” Lesson #8

“ Showing Gods love to the world ”

 

Intro: If you could live in any country in the world outside of your country, where would you live and why?

Study

  1. 1 John 4:8-11,Eph 3:18-19 God is the absolute perfect example and definition of love and the Bible shows us how God’s love is manifest to the world.
    1. 1 John 4:18 If we do not know God, and have a personal relationship with God, then it is impossible to correctly understand what love is, or how to love others.
      1. Rom 3:23, 2 Cor 4:4 We live in a world of people who are lost, dying, and going to hell and are desperate to know the love of God.
      2.  2 Cor 4:7, Rev 12:11 The way God shows his love to the world is through us, our lives, or example, and our testimony.
    2. Rom 10:13-15, 2 Cor 5:20 When we become Christians, we receive the responsibility of showing Gods love to the world.
  2. Eph 4: 11-12, 1 Tim 4:12 The work of evangelism is not just for pastors, God wants to use us while we are young to reach other youth who do not know the love of God.
    1. Jude 1:23 God wants us to reach out to others through our gifts, through direct on the street evangelism, by praying for people and by inviting them to come to our churches and to our Crossfire cell groups.
      1. 2 Tim 4:2 We should continuously watch for opportunities to share Christ with lost people in our schools, neighborhoods, work, and our family.
      2. Acts 1:8, Psalms 2:8 God may also call some of us to be a part of mission trips in other states or nations reaching out to lost people worldwide with Gods love.
    2. Mark 16:15-18, Matt 5:14 God has called us to invade the dark world around us with the light of God that is within us, helping others find their true identity in Gods love!

  1. What are some of the reasons and excuses so many Christians give as to why they are afraid to evangelize and share their faith with others?
  2. What are some steps that we can take to overcome fear of evangelizing and sharing our faith with others?
  3. Who has a testimony of a time when you personally shared the love of Christ with someone else? What happened?
  4. Who is someone right now you feel God is putting on your heart to share the love of God with? In what ways are you reaching out to them?

 

End: Pray for any who have fears of sharing the love of God with others, pray for those who God is putting on your heart to evangelize, then take requests.
