“ Empowered to reach the lost! “ lesson #3
“Empowered to lead people through the sinners prayer!“
Intro: Do you like to speak in front of a crowd, or do you get nervous to talk in front of people?
Study
- Isaiah 48:16, Acts 1:8 God has called us to live a life empowered by the Holy Spirit so that we can reach the lost, be victorious, and able to accomplish His purposes here in this world!
- Mathew 28:18-20 Everyone of us as Christians are called to evangelize! Our purpose is to reach the lost who are all around us with the Gospel!
- Mark 13:11 Many times Christian youth and young adults are not sure how to evangelize, or how to lead people to Jesus by having them repeat the sinners prayer.
- Habakkuk 2:2 This is the reason we have developed the Crossfire International five step evangelism method and teach it to pastors, Crossfire leaders, youth, and young adults in countries all over the world.
- Prov 11:30 The five steps are: 1. Introduction 2. Conversation 3. Jesus in the conversation- share the Gospel 4. Salvation – Have them repeat the sinners prayer after you 5. Follow up: Invite them to your Crossfire cell group and to your church.
- Mathew 28:18-20 Everyone of us as Christians are called to evangelize! Our purpose is to reach the lost who are all around us with the Gospel!
- John 3:36, Ezekiel 18:32 The most important of these five steps is step number four “Salvation”. This is the point when you lead people to Jesus so they can be saved from hell and go to heaven by having them repeat the sinners prayer after you.
- 1 John 1:9, Acts 3:19 We need to first confess our sins, we then need to repent of our sins, and finally we need to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior
- Romans 10:9-10 Tells us that we must confess with our mouth and believe in our heart! It is not enough for us to just pray for others, we need to lead them through the sinners prayer! They need to pray the sinners prayer themselves in order to be saved!
- Acts 13:38-39 The sinners prayer that we should use to lead people to Jesus is this: “Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner, I repent of my sins, and I accept you as my Lord and Savior, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins, and for being my Savior. Amen
- 2 Tim 2:15 Each of us should memorize this sinners prayer so that we are prepared and know what to do when God opens up opportunities for us to evangelize and win people to Jesus! The Holy Spirit will empower us to win the lost! #Empowered
- 1 John 1:9, Acts 3:19 We need to first confess our sins, we then need to repent of our sins, and finally we need to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior
Discussion
- Why are so many youth and young adults afraid of evangelism and unsure of how to lead people to Jesus?
- Why do you think God wants us to “confess with our mouth and believe in our hearts” in order for us to be saved?
- Why is it important for us to memorize the sinners prayer so that we know what to do when God opens up opportunities for us to evangelize?
- Has anyone here ever led someone through the sinners prayer? What happened? How did that experience impact your life?
End: Pray for those who want to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to evangelize and lead people through the sinners prayer. Pray for those who want to accept Jesus or rededicate their lives to Christ, then take requests.
