“Empowered to overcome the fear of evangelism! “

Intro:  What is something you were afraid of when you were a child, that you are no longer afraid of today?

Study

  1. Isaiah 48:16, Acts 1:8 God has called us to live a life empowered by the Holy Spirit so that we can reach the lost, be victorious, and able to accomplish His purposes here in this world!
    1. Mathew 28:18-20 Everyone of us as Christians are called to evangelize! Our purpose is to reach the lost who are all around us with the Gospel!
      1. Rom 5:13-14 Many Christian youth and young adults know that they need to evangelize, but they remain quiet because they are afraid.
      2. Isaiah 41:10 Often Christian youth and young adults are afriad to evangelize because they feel they do not have the right words, or that unsaved people will not listen to them.
    2. 2 Tim 1:7, Isaiah 41:13  We must always remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear. It is not Gods will for us to be afraid of evangelism! God wants us to be able to boldly share our faith with every unsaved person that He leads us to!
  2. Isaiah 61:1, Psalms 71:16 The Holy Spirit wants to empower us to overcome every fear the devil wants to use to keep us from evangelizing and leading others to Christ.
    1. Mark 13:11 The Holy Spirit will give us the right worlds to speak when we obey God and boldly step out to evangelize.
      1. Prov 28:1 The Holy Spirit may also empower us with a supernatural boldness to go into dangerous areas, and reach people that we would never be able to reach in our own abilities!
      2. Mathew 14:29-31 The way to overcome our fear of evangelism is to step out like Peter, face our fears, and go right up to the unsaved and boldly share the Gospel with them.
    2. Jer 7:23, Mark 16:15 The Holy Spirit can empower us to overcome every fear, excuse, attack, distraction, and temptation that wants to keep us from evangelism! If we obey God and step out, then the Holy Spirit will empower us to reach the world! #Empowered

  1. Why do you feel that many Christian youth and young adults are afraid to evangelize and share their faith with the unsaved who are all around them?
  2. What are some of the steps that we can take to overcome our fear of evangelism and sharing our faith with others?
  3. Can you share a time when the Holy Spirit empowered you to evangelize and win others to Christ? How did that experience impact your life?
  4. Are there some people you need to share Jesus with but you have been afraid to reach out to them? What is your plan now to overcome your fear and share Jesus with them?

End: Pray for those who want to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to overcome their fear of evangelism?  Pray for  those who want to accept Jesus or rededicate their lives to Christ,  then take requests.
