Gifts of Knowledge and Wisdom

Intro: What is the best gift you have ever received for your birthday?

Study

  1. 1 Cor 12:7-11, John 14:15-18 There are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit that are given to us, each of these gifts God can demonstrate through our lives when the need arises.
    1. Acts 1:4-5 God doesn’t expect us to do all he commands us in our strength, he will fill us with power of the Holy Spirit equipping us with all we need.
      1. 1 Cor 12:8 In this first lesson we want to look at the Holy spirits gifts of Wisdom and Knowledge.
      2. Acts 2:38-39, 1 Tim 4:14 Once we accept Christ, we can be filled with the Holy Spirit, during worship, prayer, and ministry times.
    2. 1 Cor 13:12, 2 Peter 3:18 The Bible tells us that our human understanding is limited, but that Gods wisdom and knowledge are perfect and complete.
  2. John 4:15-19 God will use us to operate in the gifts of Knowledge and wisdom at times, the purpose is to lead others to salvation through Christ.
    1. 1 Pet 5:5 When we are humble, and living right before God, the Holy spirit will speak to us through his word, through others, and in our spirits.
      1. John 14:23-24 The Holy Spirit will tell us when to say No, walk away, not to date someone, but we must listen and be willing to obey.
      2. Hosea 4:6 Peoples lives are destroyed when they don’t know or refuse to obey the knowledge and wisdom sent by the Holy Spirit.
    2. 1 John 5:2-3 Every one of us Must receive and obey the Wisdom and Knowledge of God so we can live right and know what his will is for our lives.

Discussion

  1. When is a time when God gave you Wisdom and Knowledge in situations you were facing? Has God ever used you to minister in the Gifts of knowledge and wisdom?
  2. Why can it be hard at times to hear the voice of God? What can we do to remove things that distract us from hearing Gods voice?
  3. What are some of the ways God has spoken to you personally when you needed the wisdom and knowledge of the Holy Spirit?
  4. Are there any here tonight who are facing difficult situations, and you need the wisdom and knowledge of the Holy Spirit? Please give an example
