“ Invincible!” Lesson #4

“Invincible when we face sin and temptation“

Intro:  What is your favorite activity to do outside when it is extremely cold?

Study

  1. Isaiah 54:17, John 16:33 To live invincible does not mean that we will not go through  problems in this life, rather it means that God will give us victory over everything we face if we truly follow Him.
    1. Jeremiah 7:23 In order for us to live “Invincible” we must walk in obedience to Christ and avoid living in sin!
      1. 1 Cor 10:13 Although we all face sin and temptation in this world, God provides a way for us to overcome sin and temptation if we follow Him with all of our hearts.
      2. John 10:10 We must understand that both God as well as the devil have a plan for our lives.
    2. 1 Peter 5:8-9, Jer 29:13 Satan wants to completely destroy our lives with sin, block us from our purpose, and send us to hell, whereas God wants to bless our lives, give us great relationships, anoint us to fulfill our destiny, and give us Heaven for all eternity.
  2. Deut 30:19, Ezekiel 18:32  All of us have a decision to make, a decision to either surrender to God, have a better life in this world and go to Heaven, or to reject God, have needles problems in this world and go to Hell.
    1. Prov 6:27-28, James 1:15 We must understand that sin will completely destroy our lives so we must do whatever it takes to get sin out of our lives and follow God.
      1. Joel 2:28 When we repent and turn away from our sin and serve God with all of our hearts, then God can begin the process of restoration in our lives.
      2. James 4:7, Eph 4:27 The way for us to be invincible when we face sin and temptation is to quickly repent of our sin, cut off all wrong relationships and footholds, surround ourselves with Godly influences, read the Bible, pray, and serve God in the ministry.
    2. Romans 6:23, 1 Cor 15:57-58 We can only live a victorious and invincible life when we choose to repent of our sins, surrender to God, obey God, and fulfill Gods purpose for our lives! #Invincible!

  1. Why do you feel that so many youth and young adults fall into the trap of sin and temptation?
  2. What are some of the steps the Bible gives us that we need to take in order to live invincible when we face sin and temptations?
  3. Can you share an example of a time when God gave you the strength to overcome sin and temptation that tried to destroy your life?
  4. Is there anyone here today who is struggling with sin and temptation? Are you ready to repent of this sin and surrender to God? If not what is holding you back?

End: Pray for those who are currently struggling with sin and temptations and need to repent of their sin and surrender to God.  Pray for any who need to accept Jesus as their Savior, then pray for any requests.
