“No Fear! Lesson #4

“ Fear of doing whats right! ”

Intro: What is something you fee you are very good at doing ?

Study

1. Isaiah 43:1-2, Prov 3:25-26 It is not Gods will for us as Christians to be afraid, or to be controlled by fear.
   1. Acts 9:4-8 Many times we as youth and young adults have incredible encounters with God at camps, crusades, church, or in cell groups and we commit our lives to Christ!
      1. John 16:7-8 When we are in Gods presence, the Holy Spirit will convict us of the sin in our lives, and lead us to repentance and show us the areas we need to change.
      2. 1 Cor 15:33 Many youth when they return to their old environment, and get around their old friends, and old influences struggle to change their lifestyles and do whats right.
   2. Psalms 56:3 The problem isn’t that we don’t know what is right or what God wants us to do, the problem many times is that we are afraid of what others will think of us!
2. Gal 1:10, Matt 6:24 The devil will try to use fear to keep us from obeying God, serving God, ending wrong relationships and from standing for what is right!
   1. 1 Peter 5:8-9, Eph 4:26 Peer pressure is a tool of the devil to keep us from doing right causing us to backslide and to fall away from God.
      1. Joshua 24:15 It is impossible to please God and please people who are not serving God at the same time! we must decide who we will serve.
      2. Deut 30:19 If we chose to please God, we will have purpose, peace, joy, God will give us good relationships, and we will go to heaven, if we choose to please the world, we will have problems, broken relationships, be empty and in the end go to hell.
   2. 1 Thess 2:4, Phil 4:13 It is much better to please God than to please the world, In order for us to stand for whats right and please God we must face our fear of what others will think and what they will say, and stand firm in our convictions! #Unstoppable

1. Why do you think their are so many youth and young adults who are afraid to take a stand and do whats right in front of others?
2. What are some of the fears that try to stop youth and young adults from obeying God, standing for what is right, and ending wrong relationships?
3. What are some of the many reasons it is better to please God than to please people? What are some of the problems that come about when we seek to please people rather than God?
4. What are some steps we can take in order to overcome our fear of what others think when we stand for what is right?
