“Sin and its consequences“

Intro:  What is something you really want to do once the coronavirus pandemic is over?

Study

  1. James 1:15 “Sin gives birth to death” In all countries, all cultures, in all parts of the world the problem of sin is the same!
    1. Proverbs 14:12 All around us we see people struggling with sin and its effects, addiction, depression, perversion, abuse, violence, murder, hate, and lust.
      1. Romans 3:23  People all around us are lost, broken, searching, dying, and looking for answers.
      2. 2 Cor 4:4, John 8:44 The devil has blinded the hearts and minds of the unbeleivers with sin, deceiving them, directly lying to them, and keeping them from seeing that sin is
        completely destroying their lives.
    2. Mathew 7:13-14 The Bible tells us that the road to destruction is wide, and that most people are blinded by the devil and on their way to Hell.
  2. Psalms 111:10 Secular scholars and philosophers think more education is the answer for sin, but that isn’t working, other people think if they just had more money then that would resolve the problem of sin and its consequences, but money will not resolve the problem of sin.
    1. Romans 6:23 Others think Islam, Hinduism, or other false religions are the solution for sin and that definitely isn’t working, while others think more sin is the answer for sin trying to drown out their depression and emptiness with drugs, alcohol, or perversion.
      1. Matt 15:14 The Bible describes these efforts to resolve the problems of sin with out God as the blind leading the blind.
      2. John 14:6, 1 John 2:2 The only solution for the worldwide problem of sin is Jesus! Life only makes sense when we are in right relationship with God!
    2. Deut 30:19 If we do not know Jesus as our Savior then we will have needless problems here this word and we will go to Hell for eternity, however when we know Jesus as our Savior, we have a better life here in this world and we go to Heaven for eternity.                                                     #Reachtheworld!

  2. Can you share an example of the negative results that sin brought about in your personal life?
  3.  Can you share an example of the good that happened in your life when you repented of your sin, turned away from your life of sin, and decided to live by Gods standards?
  4. What is God calling us to do as Christians to help reach the world around us that is lost and dying because of sin?

End: Pray for those who want to repent of their sin and accept Jesus as their savior, also pray for those who need to rededicate their lives to Christ, then take requests.
