Statement of Faith

1.The Bible

(Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalms 119:105. Psalms 119:130, 1 Peter 1:21, Mathew 4:4) The Bible is the perfect divinely inspired Word of God given to all people, to all cultures, for all time, in every part of the world. The Word of God is our standard, our light, and our guide. Right and wrong should be determined by what the Bible says, not by society. The moral standards that God has given us in his word are not open for debate. We as Christians must base what is right and wrong on the Bible alone and not upon the consensus of a spiritually blind world. What the Bible says is sin, is sin; it leads to death, and we should avoid it. Psalm 119:11 says, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” When we hide the Word of God in our hearts we find truth, we find freedom, we find guidance, and we find the strength to resist and overcome the temptations of the world. In a real sense the Bible is like an owner’s manual, written by the creator, so the creation can know how to live. It is essential that we read the Word of God, that we study the Word of God, that we memorize the Word of God, and that we preach the Word of God to the world.

2. The Trinity

(Gen 1:26, Gen 11:7, Deut 6:4, Mathew 3:16-17, Mathew 28:19, Luke 1:35, 2 Cor 13:14, 1 Cor 8:6 ) There is one true God who reveals himself to us as God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is 3 in one with 3 distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being, and God the Father, God the Son, and God the Hoy Spirit are all equally divine.

3. Divinity of Christ

(Gen 12:3, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, Micah 5:2, Luke 2:11, John 1:18, John 1:29, John 8:58, John 10:30, John 12:45, Col 2:9) Jesus Christ is God the Son who came into the world to die on the cross for our sins so we could be saved from Hell and go to Heaven. Jesus was born into this world through the virgin Mary, He lived a perfect sinless life, He died on the Cross for our sins, and he was resurrected in bodily form from the dead three days later, Jesus then ascended to heaven on the Mount of Olives and will return to earth again one day.

4. Heaven and Hell

(Deut 30:19, Ezekiel 18:32, Daniel 12:2, John 3:36, John 14:2-3, Rev 20:15) Heaven and Hell are real actual locations described in the Bible where all of humanity will spend eternity. If someone repents of their sins and accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior, they will spend eternity in a real literal Heaven. However if someone rejects Jesus Christ, then they will spend eternity in a real literal Hell. God has given all of us free will, and we are free to either choose to accept Jesus Christ and go to Heaven forever when this life is over, or we can choose to reject Jesus, have needless problems in this world and go to Hell for eternity. This choice is ours, and we encourage everyone possible to repent of their sins and accept Jesus so they can avoid Hell and go to Heaven.

5. Sinfulness of man

(Genesis 3, Psalms 51:6, Romans 3:23, James 1:15 ) In Genesis 3 when Adam and Eve rebelled against God, sin entered the world. James 1:15 tells us that, “Sin…gives birth to death.” The consequence of sin is death, separation from God forever in a literal Hell. Psalms 51:5 tells us, “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.”Romans 3:23 also tells us that, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Because all of us are descendants of Adam and Eve, we are all born with this same sin nature that results in an eternity in Hell. Man is born into sin and is in need of a Savior.

6. Jesus, the only way to salvation

(John 14:6, John 8:32, 1 John 2:2, John 1:29, Romans 1:7, Romans 5:8, John 3:16-17) Jesus alone is, “The way, the truth, and the life.” There are not many ways to salvation, nor are there many ways to God. Jesus is God and Jesus is the way to Salvation. Acts 4:12  tells us that, “Salvation is found in no one else, there is no other name under Heaven given to men by which they must be saved.” Jesus is not one option among many, Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life. God sent Jesus to earth to die on the Cross for our sins so we could be saved from Hell and go to Heaven.

7. Salvation

(John 3:36, Rom 10:9-10, Acts 16:33, Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)  The Bible gives us the way to appropriate the salvation that Jesus has made available to us. The Bible in Romans 10:9 tells us that, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” The way that we become saved from Hell and are able to go to Heaven for all eternity is by confessing our sins, repenting of our sins, and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

8. Marriage

(Genesis 2:24, Mathew 19:5, Ephesians 5:31) Marriage is Gods sacred union between one man and one woman, anything else is perversion and is in direct defiance of God’s order. Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31, and Mathew 19:5 tell us clearly “A man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” Today, many countries are legalizing gay marriage and embracing all kinds of other extreme perversions that are directly condemned in the Bible. We as Christians should not condone these sins, rather we need to warn people against sin, call them to repentance, and lovingly help them come out of these sinful lifestyles so they can find freedom and salvation through Christ and thus have an eternity in Heaven. If we as Christians truly love people then we will not justify homosexuality or any other sin, nor will we remain silent and just allow people to die in their sin and go to hell. If we love people, then we will love them enough to tell them the truth, that the sin is destroying their lives and then offer to lead them to Christ so that they can find freedom, and salvation through Jesus.

9. Homosexuality, transvestites, gender confusion, and abortion

(1 Cor 6:9-11, Romans 1:27, Mark 10:6, Deut 22:5, Leviticus 20:13, 1 Timothy 1:10) Homosexuality is directly condemned throughout the Bible. Leviticus 18:22 tells us, “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” The Bible also says, in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, “Do not be deceived, neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the Kingdom of God.” In regards to gender confusion and gender changing, the Bible clearly tells us in Mark 10:6 “But at the beginning of creation God made them male and female.” God determines if someone is born a male or female and His determination is final. This is a demonic perversion of God’s order and design. The Bible also talks about transvestites, God clearly says in Deuteronomy 22:5, “A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.” As far as the issue of abortion, God says in Exodus 20:13, “You shall not murder.” Abortion is murder. This is not our personal opinion, philosophy, or political persuasion, this is Scripture. This is not being judgmental or intolerant; this is simply relaying what the Word of God says. Who knows better on what is good for us, the God who created us, or we the sinful creation? We as Christians need to stand firm on the standards of Gods Word, rather than conform to the progressive standards of modern society that are destroying peoples lives.

10. Evangelism

(Mathew 4:19, Luke 19:10, John 6:29, Mathew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, Romans 10:12-15, 2 Cor 5:20, Jude 1:23, Mathew 5:14-16) In Mathew 4:19 when Jesus was beginning His ministry on earth, he said “Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Jesus was teaching us that the result of truly following Him is that we should become evangelistic and win souls. Then at the end of His ministry, Jesus again confirmed that evangelism was to be the top priority of the church when He gave us the Great Commission, Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation”. Then in Acts 1:8 God sent the Holy Spirit to anoint us to fulfill the great commission. The primary purpose of the Holy Spirit is to anoint us to win souls to Christ. Luke 19:10 tells us that “The son of man came to seek and save the lost” Evangelism was Jesus’ main priority so as his followers, evangelism needs to be our main priority as well. In Mathew 5:14-16 Jesus calls His followers “the lights of the world.” When we accept Jesus, we become carriers of the light of God in this dark world. As carriers of the light of Christ, when we enter the dark world around us, it is to no longer to be dark because of the light of God that is within us. We, as carriers of the light of God, are called to guide those who are lost, blind, and whose lives are being destroyed by sin, to the safety and salvation found in Jesus. Our purpose is to reach the lost. Evangelism is at the center of everything that we do through the ministry of Crossfire International. We regularly give salvation altar calls as a part of the Crossfire cell groups, camps, crusades, events, and in mission trips in countries all over the world. We also lead evangelism on the streets before all of the crusades, and we regularly evangelize in the neighborhoods where the Crossfire cell groups meet worldwide. Evangelism is consistently emphasized in the Crossfire cell lessons, sermons, leadership training, and discipleship for all of the Crossfire International national directors, pastors, and Crossfire young adult leaders in all of the countries we are working in all over the world!
